Synopsis
English
A human being needs at least 1200 calories a day to live. A woman in the middle of an existential crisis confronts her ballet teacher who had forced her, at the age of 13, to restrict her diet to 500 calories a day.

Cristina Spina
Biography
English
Cristina Spina is an Italian actor, writer and director based in New York City. She started her career as a dancer and actor in Rome, working with top Italian Theater directors, such as Luca Ronconi, Massimo Castri and Carlo Cecchi. Cristina made her American debut when she was chosen by choreographer and director Martha Clarke for a lead role in the play Kaos by Frank Pugliese at the New York Theatre Workshop. In 2013, she studied at NYU Tisch School in their film program’s Sight & Sound Course. She was assistant director on Bette Gordon’s film “The drowning”. For “House of cards”, season 6, she shadowed the director Alik Sakharov. And for “City on a hill”, season 2, she shadowed the director Hagar Ben Hasher. In 2016, she directed her debut short film “So Be It”, which won Best Short Film at the Rome Independent Film Festival. She then wrote and directed “500 Calories” (2020), and she is now developing her first feature film, “Rose is a Rose”.
