Bernhard Wenger was born 1992 in Salzburg, Austria. After graduating high school he moved to Vienna, where he studied film theory and gained professional set experience. He was accepted to the Vienna Film Academy in 2014, where he studies directing.
His last short film "Excuse me, I'm looking for the ping-pong room and my girl-friend" won Best Short Film at the Austrian Film Awards 2019, premiered 2018 at the Moscow Film Festival (A-Festival), won the Max Ophüls Award, as well as both short film awards at the Diagonale – Festival of Austrian Film.
Bernhard’s last short films have been screened and/or won awards at prestigious film festivals like Sarajevo Film Festival, Palm Springs Film Festival, Leuven Film Festival, Vienna Shorts, Nashville Film Festival, Hollyshorts Film Festival, Uppsala Film Festival, Odense Film Festival, etc. He has won over 80 international awards. His doc "Keeping balance" got Vimeo Staff Pick in 2017 and 2018 his short "Exit right" went viral on facebook with more than 12mil views in total. Currently he is working on his first feature length film, which he presented in Talent Village at Les Arcs Film Festival in December 2018.

Bernhard Wenger nasce nel 1992 a Salisburgo, in Austria. Dopo il diploma, si trasferisce a Vienna, dove studia teoria cinematografica e acquisisce esperienza professionale sul set. Viene accettato alla Vienna Film Academy nel 2014, dove studia regia.
Il suo ultimo cortometraggio "Excuse me, I'm looking for the ping-pong room and my girl-friend" vince il premio Miglior Cortometraggio agli Austrian Film Awards 2019, presentato in anteprima nel 2018 al Moscow Film Festival (A-Festival), vince il Premio Max Ophüls, nonché entrambi i Premi per i cortometraggi al Diagonale - Festival of Austrian Film.
Gli ultimi cortometraggi di Bernhard vengono proiettati e/o premiati in prestigiosi festival cinematografici come Sarajevo Film Festival, Palm Springs Film Festival, Leuven Film Festival, Vienna Shorts, Nashville Film Festival, Hollyshorts Film Festival, Uppsala Film Festival, Odense Film Festival, ecc.
