Synopsis

Alaoma Tyson is the Italian boxe champion in the Youth heavyweight category. While he trains for his next match, his mother Patience tells the story of the family, from her migration journey to the financial struggles she had to face in Italy. Recalling their past, Patience weaves Tyson's future, whose name seems predestined to be a fighter.

Claudio Casale was born in Rome, where he graduated in Business Administration. He lived for years in India and Southeast Asia, where he developed his passion for documentary. Back in Italy, he made “Piccolo mondo cane” (2017), documentary about job precariousness and the right-to-work. In 2018 he made “My Tyson”, with the contribution of MiBAC (Italian Minister of Culture), which had its world première at the 75th Venice Film Festival in the MigrArti section, where it won the Best Documentary Award. The short film was shortlisted at Nastri d’Argento. In 2020 he made "Om Devi: Sheroes Revolution", a Virtual Reality documentary on women's rights in India. The documentary was selected at the 77th Venice Film Festival in the Venice VR Expanded section. "Shero" (2021), also shot in India, is his latest documentary.

Claudio Casale nasce a Roma, dove si laurea in Economia Aziendale. Vive per anni in India e Sud-Est Asiatico, dove sviluppa la sua passione per il documentario. Tornato in Italia gira “Piccolo mondo cane” (2017), documentario sulla precarietà e il diritto al lavoro. Nel 2018 realizza “My Tyson”, con il contributo del MiBAC, che viene presentato in anteprima mondiale alla 75a Mostra del Cinema di Venezia nella sezione MigrArti, vincendo il premio per il Miglior Documentario. Il corto entra in cinquina ai Nastri d’Argento. Nel 2020 realizza "Om Devi: Sheroes Revolution", documentario in Virtual Reality sui diritti delle donne in India. Il documentario è stato selezionato alla 77a Mostra del Cinema di Venezia nella sezione Venice VR Expanded. "Shero" (2021), girato anch'esso in India, è il suo ultimo documentario.
