Biography
English
Andrea Romano was born in Turin in 1990. After studying piano, he approached theatre and graduated as an actor at the Paolo Grassi school in Milan in 2012. He then travelled and worked as an actor in Italy (with Dario Fo, Danio Manfredini, Maurizio Schmidt), Palestine and New York (with the Susan Batson Studio), before arriving in Paris in 2015, where he attended the Conservatoire Nationale d'Art Dramatique as a foreign student. It was in Paris that he began working in film productions, first with Gaël Morel during his studies, then with Guillaume Brac, with whom he starred in "Contes de Juillet" (Locarno 2017, Prix Jean Vigo), followed by performances for Nicolas Maury in "Garçon Chiffon" (Cannes 2020, Angoulême 2020), in Florent Gouelou's "Trois nuits par semaine" (Critics' Week, Venice 2022), in the Belgian series "La théorie du Y", (RTBF 2023) by Caroline Taillet and Martin Landmeters, and in "Le Syndrome des amours passées" by Ann Sirot and Raphaël Balboni. "9th floor to the right (9ème étage droite)" (Grand Prix of the competition HLM sur cour(t), Clermont Ferrand 2023 - national competition, Cortinametraggio 2023) is his first film as director, co-writer, and lead actor.
